At this age, independence is achieved as kids learn with a “helper” without the need for a parent as they prepare to ride. An HF 55aInstructor teaches the young students to become independent from the helpers over time.

Due to the popularity of these classes, parents need to book 2-3 weeks in advance (due to small class size).

At this age, parents assist with the grooming and preparing the horse to ride with the assistance of one of our qualified “helpers.”

This activity lasts approximately 30 minutes so the child gains confidence by learning about the horse before getting on their back.
Additionally, muscle memory, focus and confidence are rapidly developing. Kids will then ride approximately 30 minutes and learn bareback exercises to prepare them for further skills required to ride on their own. Upper body strength is developed along with a growing appreciation of respect, patience, and gentleness.

Private Weekly Lesson Program for Kids and Youth

Private riding lessons are offered for 7+.  These one-on-one classes are recommended for kids with low confidence,

HF 19aEquine Explorers: 9 to 12 years old

At this age we focus on building confidence by emphasizing awareness and safety around ponies and horses. Our kids are posting bareback at a very young age. They learn early body awareness (including simple anatomy) and exercises that help develop posture and strong trunk control.

Students also gain upper body strength with the use of special reins for little hands. Self-control is emphasized at this level. Lessons are private until the young rider learns to navigate safely in the arena with other riders  These classes are one hour in length and include preparing the horse to ride through grooming and tacking. Most importantly, children learn early to respect and be kind to our furry friends. Riding time 30 min.
